British Hand-Woven Chainmaille & Specialist Metalwork
Based in the heart of the UK, Dizzy Co Designs creates bespoke chainmaille jewellery designed for those who value industrial-strength durability alongside artisan aesthetics. We move beyond high-street fast fashion to offer hand-linked statement pieces that are engineered to last a lifetime.
Every necklace and bracelet is meticulously woven from medical-grade 316L stainless steel. This ensures your piece is not only hypoallergenic and skin-safe but also entirely tarnish-proof, maintaining its brilliant lustre in the British weather without the need for constant polishing.
Our work draws on traditional weaving techniques to create contemporary wearable art. Whether you are looking for a heavy-gauge statement necklace for alternative styling or a delicate Byzantine bracelet, our focus remains on technical precision and structural integrity.
Commissioning Unique Pieces We specialise in one-off commissions and custom metalwork. If you have a specific vision for a specialist accessory or a fantasy-inspired heritage piece, we invite you to discuss a private commission for a truly unique, UK-handcrafted addition to your collection.

Engineered for Life: The Superiority of Surgical-Grade Steel
At Dizzy Co Designs, we choose 316L Stainless Steel—often referred to as surgical-grade steel—as the primary medium for our chainmaille. While traditional precious metals like sterling silver or gold plating have their place, they often fall short of the durability standards required for heavy-gauge weaving and daily alternative styling.
1. Hypoallergenic & Skin-Safe
Unlike "mystery metals" or lower-quality alloys that often contain nickel, our 316L steel is biocompatible and hypoallergenic. It is the gold standard for those with sensitive skin, ensuring your statement jewellery can be worn comfortably against the skin without the risk of irritation or "green-skin" reactions.
2. Tarnish-Resistant & Marine-Grade
Silver oxidises and turns black; gold plating eventually wears thin. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and tarnish-proof. Whether exposed to the British rain, sea salt, or daily wear, our jewellery retains its metallic lustre without the need for chemical cleaners or constant polishing.
3. High Tensile Strength
Chainmaille is an art of mechanical tension. Stainless steel offers a tensile strength far superior to copper or silver. This means our hand-linked patterns—from heavy Byzantine weaves to delicate lace-like structures—maintain their geometric integrity and won't stretch or warp over time.
4. Sustainable & Recyclable
In an era of fast fashion, stainless steel is the eco-conscious choice. It is 100% recyclable and requires no mining of rare soft metals, making it a sustainable investment for the conscious consumer who values longevity over disposability.
Beyond the Machine: The Value of British Craftsmanship
In a marketplace flooded with mass-produced, disposable accessories, Dizzy Co Designs stands for intentional creation. We don’t just "make" jewellery; we engineer heritage pieces through a lens of traditional craftsmanship and individualised service. When you choose a small, independent British business, you are investing in a provenance that global corporations simply cannot offer.
1. Technical Intentionality
Every link in our chainmaille collection is closed by hand with meticulous precision. Unlike machine-stamped jewellery, hand-woven metalwork allows for tactile quality control at every stage of the build. We ensure the structural alignment of every single ring, resulting in a fluidity of movement and a bespoke weight that feels substantial and purposeful on the skin.
2. Direct Traceability
When you commission a piece from us, you aren't a "transaction number" in a database; you are a collaborator. As a customer-focused small business, we offer a level of bespoke tailoring—from custom sizing to unique weaving patterns—that mass-market brands find impossible to scale. You have a direct line to the maker's bench, ensuring your vision is translated into wearable art with absolute fidelity.
3. Sustainable Longevity
Small-scale production is inherently sustainable. By focusing on small-batch manufacturing and 316L stainless steel, we bypass the "planned obsolescence" of the high street. Our business model is built on slow fashion principles: creating high-quality, corrosion-resistant pieces that are designed to be passed down, not thrown away.

My Story
Katherine on Life, and Dizzy Co Designs
Hello there! I’m Katherine, a proud child of the 1960s, born in Yorkshire — land of tea, sheep, and a textile heritage so strong it could practically weave its own stories. From the moment I could hold a pair of scissors (safely, of course), I’ve been crafting, stitching, gluing, knitting, and occasionally glitter-bombing my way through life.
When I was three, my family whisked me off to the Netherlands, where I learned two very important life skills:
